India Daily’s blog on the crap article that Delhi Times section of The Times of India carried out has been noticed by Tarun Pall himself and commented no less than three times since this morning asking us to ‘correct’ it. He insists that he never called himself an ‘elite’ blogger as claimed by the crap article in Delhi Times. He goes further in his blog calling it a ‘betrayal‘ by The Times of India.
Will the TOI ever respond to this now? Can it refute what Tarun is saying? If so, it would make some really interesting reading for Indian bloggers, especially Tarun Pall. Read his post on the article and you will know what lengths TOI is willing to go manipulating things when being hit as, in this case, by us.
Back to Tarun again. He is so hurt by my post that he kept on requesting me through his comments repeatedly to ‘correct’ it. When I went online around noon, there were 4 3 posts comments already by him. He just couldn’t wait to hear from me. I am not a 24 X 7 blogger. I must say that this guy should know how to keep his emotions under control and desist from calling names and threaten. I can understand the feeling he must be having about this. But what he fails to understand that the issue should be between TOI and him and not India Daily and him. Would Tarun Pall please tell us why I should ‘correct’ what someone else has written about him - in this case Delhi Times?
India Daily’s blog was based purely on the article in Delhi Times, it had nothing personal against Tarun himself.
We really appreciate the initiative taken by Tarun on clearing himself while exposing the lies about himself in Delhi Times. Cheers! Tarun and best of luck for the future. If you ain’t an elite blogger now, you will be one day. And you shall have our full support.

The initiative taken by Tarun is commendable. It might not be a success this time, but I am sure it will attract a large number of bloggers in future meets.
We agree that numerically Indian bloggers are lesser than their western counterparts, but Indian news media is deliberately playing the numbers down. It seems like they are being threatened by the impact the bloggers are already creating in the Indian psyche.
National newspapers (except a few like Hindu), bloat about their circulation figures only without any value to their content which come from bad to worse. Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton occupy more space in our widely circulated newspapers than newsworthy Indian figure, incident or event.
TOI never notified any date or venue but were very quick to point out the low turnout in the said annual meet. Keep it up Tarun, we all will be there next time, and don`t be disheartened by some silly newspaper story.
Thats a long debate over a small issue.... Four guys get down to get a coffee, and DT spys are all over.
But I agree with Nandini, newspapers are going from bad to worse..
After what Nandini just said I went back and read your first post about this issue. And I do think some of the phrases in it are in bad taste. You have used these phrases yourself and not while quote the Delhi Times article.
Please read some of these phrases once again...
”Only four bloggers attended the so called 3rd Delhi Bloggers Meet hosted by a certain self-styled ‘elite’ blogger called Tarun Pall. ”
”Does he want to be some kind of a bloggers’ union president? For us, Tarun Pall is a non-entity in blogosphere and the article in Delhi Times is nothing more than crap.”
There are some more that are a bit iffy but it is clear that you yourself have unjustifiably ridiculed Tarun.
And Jonty’s comment defending himself is even more hilarious...
”As a blogger yourself, you must be knowing how difficult and unethical it is to change one’s stance in the blogosphere, especially after one has gone public with some contention.”
It is NOT unethical to correct something that is wrong.
”Finally, in every anti-militancy operation, some innocent people also fall prey to the bullets. I hope, you get the point.”
Yikes! This one takes the cake.
TOI seems to running short of stories, and is trying to create a few by themselves.
Has anyone read ”The Almighty”?
I have made it abundantly clear that my http://www.indiadaily.org/entry/india-has-very-few-bloggers-read-times-of-indias-yellow-journalism/ was based on the article in DT. However, once Tarun came out to refute whatever is written there, I made the necessary corrections. No only that, we have also posted an update on the issue immediately after what was originally written. Furthermore, if you read my post here, the fact that the target of rebuke was primarily TOI (as the headline suggests along with the content) and not Tarun Pall. However, if your opinion differs from mine, I would respect it always as you should mine.
