Here is the answer... Like FTV and AXN, the news channel ‘Live India’ has also been banned for one month in India. The I&B ministry had earlier banned FTV and AXN for showing vulgar and obscene programs in India now, the government has banned Live India for showing fake content in the name of journalism.
‘Live India’ has become the first 24×7 news channel to be banned in India. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has decided to impose a ban on the TV news channel ‘Live India’ for a month. The news channel was under fire for showing the fake sting operation and defamed a school teacher by calling her a kingpin of sex racket running in a school in Delhi.
This has happened for the first time in India that a news channel has been banned because of conducting a fake sting operation. After showing the fake sting operation, the news channel had come under the I&B ministry’s scanner.
The I&B ministry has taken this decision because of the strong public reaction against the news channel and the strong stance taken by Delhi High Court against the news channel.
On September 7, the High Court had taken a suo motu notice of the case on the basis of the reports published in newspapers in Delhi. The court later asked the Government and the Delhi Police to submit their report in this matter of the fake sting operation.
