People always target a big name to create controversy on any matter and ignore the same matter if happening near to them and being done by any low profile person. The same thing is happening against Infosys mentor Narayan Murthy and Sachin Tendulkar.

People are targeting Narayan Murthy for making a remark on the instrumental use of national anthem in the meeting where president Kalam had said that Murthy is the best man to be next President of India.

Murthy had said on the instrumental use of National Anthem:

We have a lot of foreigners. We didn’t want them to be embarrassed, when they are silent and others are singing. So this was fine.

Later, he apologized on the matter by saying that he had not said or done anything intentional.

Similarly, a case has been filed against Sachin Tendulkar for reportedly dishonoring the national flag during the world cup when he was in a function in the West Indies.

News channels showed images of Tendulkar about to cut a cake in the colours of the national flag in a function that was organized the Indian High Commissioner to Jamaica.

This is needless and a complete waste of time to say anything about the contributions of these two personalities in taking Indianness at a new high all across the globe in their field of working. The whole world knows about the contribution what both personalities have done for the country.

Infosys transformed India as a software global power and Tendulkar has consistently faced the burden of hope of Indian people for long 17 years and given Indian cricket a new high. (People may also take this sentence to criticize the whole article in lieu of World Cup defeat)

Here, no one can point a finger on their Indianness. Tendulkar was the man who had expressed his displeasure when the Supreme Court had said not to use the Tricolor on the sports cap and helmet. A tricolor on Sachin’s helmet was an USP of Tendulkar for more than 10 years.

And now, people are raising finger and filing case against him. This is nothing but a step to get a cheap popularity through electronic media. News channels are consistently providing such kind of people a great platform to get a short-cut popularity.

Some bloggers across the nation such as Churumuri and Blogbharati have also started criticizing Murthy on his remarks. We should understand that there was nothing intentional behind his act or saying. You cannot target him as habitual lawbreakers.
