News channels have indeed re-defined the concept of news and the way it is reported. Investigative reporting is the order of the day, and things have reached such an extent that viewers are not happy with just plain facts.



News reporting is no more restricted to news that happens - it is now news that is made to happen. The reporter cannot rest until every minute detail has been dissected and made in to a dinner-table discussion.



Just before twenty-four hours of serial blasts in the local trains in Mumbai, the self-claimed #1 news channel ‘AajTak’ had presented an investigative story on the security failure in the Delhi Metro, the world class asset of Delhi.



I was traumatized by watching the furious scenes of injured and dead people after the Mumbai blast last Tuesday. When I became normal, I suddenly remembered the story of security failure in Delhi Metro showed by AajTak.



Who is to blame for the blasts? This is a common question rises in everybody’s mind.



May it be central investigative agencies, the State administration, Railway Ministry?



I want to add one more name in the list that is ‘News Channels’. You might be surprised on my saying.



Let me explain, the story of security failure in Delhi metro showed for the whole day on a big news channel and its three sister channels, which happens to be broadcasted in the US and many other countries too.



According to them, they are revealing the truth to the people.



But according to my view, they are indirectly helping the terrorists too by showing the restricted visuals and geographical construction of the important sites of country.



The terrorist are being aware of the security failure in Delhi Metro simultaneously.



Therefore, I have an advice to the news channels to be responsible in presenting the facts and make sure that terrorist does not get any information from the news package showed by the news channel.



Sensitive facts should not be showed on the news channel for monetary benefits only.



Do not do it for GOD sake, please.
