
Movies, sometimes, prove itself as the great way of communication with common people. This time the movie ‘Lage raho Munnabhai’ created the impact. Gandhism was loosing its impact on the younger generation in India. His philosophy was remained in the book not being practicised by the people. This movie has inspired the young generation to discuss about Gandhi’s ideology in schools or colleges.
Munnabhai’s ‘Gandhigiri’ is getting popularity among common citizens as well as political leaders too. It has created mark on the common Indian and now the leaders are interested to learn the Gandhigiri teachings from Munnabhai. September 11, 2006 is a centenary year of Satyagraha Movement. Gandhi Ji started it in South Africa on September 11, 1906 for the first time.

The congress party has prepared for the year-long centenary celebrations of the Satyagraha movement. In addition, the movie has its impact on the Congress Working Committee (CWC) members. They proposed by getting inspiration for the movie, to set up a Gandhian chair in universities and condensing volumes of Gandhian works.
Moreover, the Rajya Sabha member, Mohsina Kidwai suggested all members of CWC to watch the movie ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ that explains the thoughts of Gandhi in the local words of ‘Gandhigiri’. The Hindu reported that she mentioned that youth of India is taking books on Gandhi out of Library to know more about Gandhi and his philosophy.

Indiadaily is asking to the common citizens of India, Do we really need these kinds of movies to recall the great leaders and their teachings? Are we forgetting Gandhian principles now? Why do some people think that Gandhian ideology and thoughts are not relevant today?
