With no time, at least 45 people were cold sweated and grilled in the inferno and almost the same number sustained grievous injuries. Just a day has passed after the raging inferno at the ‘Brand India’ fair claimed at least 60 lives, the as usual story of India- ‘The blame game’ has begun.



For this profane lack of the basic safety measures, which led to this gargantuan disaster, fingers have started to raise against the fair organizing committee, they have been till now solely blamed for this tragedy.



A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the three organisers, Lakhanpal Tomar and his two partners Ashish Gupta and Siddharth Malhotra. But, all three of them are absconding.



But my point is why to blame the organizors only? Those who are drumming from yesterday that catch the organiszers I would like to know that What is their opinion about the authorities who have passed the permission to hold the fair especially when necessary safety measures were not in use there?



I think, first the authorities who have given a yes statement for this fair should be booked. It is the Deputy Commisioner’s Job basically to make certain that the safety measures are adequate in any festival, fair or event organized in his district and he should have seen and have been aware about the faulty safety measures quite before the commencement of fair, he should be held guilty and should be suspended.



Does the duty of administration is only to inaugurate such kind of function and neglect all norms whether passed or not.We in India do not learn anything from our past incidences.we citizens along with our esteemed authorities wink at and many times just close our eyes for safety.



We till yet have not leant anything from previous incidences and tragedies like ‘95

Mandi Dabwali, ‘97 UPHAAR, ‘01 Erwadi village, ‘04Srirangam, ‘04Kumbakonam tragedies and will not realize and learn anything from this gruesome tragedy as well. Our authorities will keep granting permissions by being charmed with sweeteners to such unsafe fairs.



Till now, I think we all should have understood, this is what we mean by ‘India Shining’
