Mittal Steel is facing very stiff resistance in its bid to take over Luxembourg-based Arcelor with the Luxembourg government trying to pass a law stopping his company from taking over Arcelor.
The Indian government has cited that it won’t be a mute spectator to the events should Luxembourg decide to go ahead with its unethical plans. Hence, this issue likely to figure in talks between PM Singh and French President Chirac.
Chairman of Mittal Steel therefore, is likely to be in India during the visit of French President Jacque Chirac here next week in an attempt to persuade India to take up the issue with him.
