An spirited Team India has done it again, this time at Mohali. They routed Sri Lanka in the second day-night ODI. Sri Lanka could only manage 122 in 35.4 overs with Kumar Sangakkara being the highest scorer with 27. Irfan Pathan took 4 wickets for 37.
To further upset the Lankan apple-cart, India knocked off the required runs in barely 20.2 overs with the loss of just 2 wickets. Once again, Sachin’s bat blazed and he made a glorious 70 off just 69 balls with 12 hits to the fence.
Saurav Fans Flood Kolkata Streets: It seems, the streets of Kolkata are poised to be set on fire literally this Diwali. The Prince of Kolkata has not been picked up for the next three ODIs against Sri Lanka in the ongoing series. Ganguly was ‘elbowed’ out following an injury on his right elbow. Since then, he has recovered completely and went on to complete a glorious century in the Duleep Trophy that was viewed as a litmus test for the beleaguered captain to come back to the side, where he had to prove not only his match-fitness but also form.
Now that he has passed out the test with flying colours, his exclusion from the side is sure to ignite some passionate reactions from angry fans, who were already on the streets for Ganguly not being picked up for the first two One-dayers.
Ganguly, with 22 centuries and over 10,000 runs, is the second most prolific batsman after Sachin Tendulkar in One-day Internationals.
