BCCI president, then ICC president and now by beating all odds Jagmohan Dalmiya is now elected as Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president. He literally has won the battle against the might of the state.
He won by the figure 61-56, beating Prasun Mukherjee, the police commissioner of the Kolkata. Mukherjee had the backing of chief minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya and former India captain Sourav Ganguly.
This win, hopefully, has given Dalmiya a sigh of relief. However, this winning of Dalmiya against the will of CM will have some unexpected results in the coming days in BCCI, Bengal Cricket and on the Ganguly’s future.
Ganguly had gone against his old mentor some times before. BCCI president Sharad Pawar was busy sidelining Dalmiya from cricketing affairs but the tiger is back in a new form.
