The voice of Dalit protest has finally entered the state government secretariat gallery on the matter of Khairlanji Massacre. Before more than one month, Bhaiyalal Bhotmange’s four family members were killed over a land feud.
However, the state government has decided to give a compensation of Rs 6 lakh to Bhaiyalal Bhotmange, the lone survivor of the family.

The government has taken some initiative in the case and Investigative agency has arrested 44 suspects. The government has established a fast-track court to hold the trial fast as well.
On the other hand, a group of Dalits protestors entered the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, and staged a dharna outside the CM’s office in Mumbai. Dalit groups from Vidarbha have continued protest and asked for the justice for Bhaiyalal family.
As yesterday, IGP, Maharashtra police, made a statement that there was no proof of rape found on the women killed in the massacre. The dalit groups claimed that the autopsy report was botched up to cover up the rape.
However, RR Patil, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister has blamed that all these protests are being politically-motivated and stage-managed. Some Naxal groups are behind the violent protests.
In the last three days there were some violent protests occurred in Vidarbha. Finally, the government has handed over the probe to the CID.
Bhaiyalal opened his mouth for the first time in Nagpur and asked for an emotional plea of justice. He said that
the police are yet to arrest the main culprits. They are moving freely. The sarpanch is yet to be arrested. They are being protected. I want justice for my children.
